The Rasterbator

30 May 2006 12:19

The Rasterbator is a fantastic piece of software that can be used to create rasterised versions of images. The results can be printed onto many sheets of paper that can be assembled to create huge posters up to 20m in size!

Sample 'Rasterbated' image

The Rasterbator is completely free and can be downloaded from http://arje.net/rasterbator. I’d really like to thank Matias Ärje for creating this very cool piece of software. Keep up the good work!

The concept of the Rasturbator sounds great. How are people assembling the pieces? Do you glue them onto poster board or on photo paper? NOt sure quite how to do them.

I’ve tried it out with a photo Rasterbated on to 5×4 A4 sheets of photo paper. I just stuck these straight to the wall and it looks great :)

I left the white border on and it gives the effect of looking at the image through a large window with lots of panes in it.

Hi Brett,

Sorry, I should have made it more clear. Clicking the image takes you to The Rasterbator website. I’ve updated my post with a text link too.

Cheers,
Dan
