Take That – “Rule The World”

27 September 2007 21:24

Take That will be releasing their new single next month. “Rule The World” has been written and recorded by the band for the star-studded Paramount Pictures movie “Stardust” and will be available on CD and download in October.

The film follows a young man named Tristan (Charlie Cox) who tries to win the heart of Victoria (Sienna Miller) by going on a quest to retrieve a falling star. His journey takes him into a mysterious and forbidden land, where he discovers that the star has turned into a beautiful girl named Yvaine (Claire Danes). Can he defeat the evil witch Lamia (Michelle Pfeiffer) and the hordes of rivals who are also trying to claim the star as their own?

You can watch the whole video here – look out for some of the other stars of the film, including Robert de Niro and Ricky Gervais.

Grammy Award-winning producer John Shanks (who also produced “Beautiful World”) worked on the musical arrangement for the track, which was recorded at Abbey Studios, where the video was also shot.

Ian Porterfield – R.I.P.

11 September 2007 22:51

Ian Porterfield - SAFC 1973 FA Cup heroI was greatly saddened this evening to learn of the untimely death of one of the greatest heroes in Sunderland AFC’s proud history, Mr Ian Porterfield. My most sincere condolences go to Ian’s wife Glenda and the rest of his family.

I hadn’t been born when we won the FA Cup in ‘73, but I have watched the DVD many times and have heard wonderful memories of the match from family members.

Ian Porterfield – you will always be remembered as a true legend that will go down in Sunderland AFC folklore forever.

R.I.P.

Tubesnake

1 September 2007 07:54

Visit Tubesnake.co.ukLen, one of my mates from work, is the frontman in North East rock band Tubesnake. They’ve been going for around 15 years now and are very highly regarded within the region. They do covers by artists such as The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, The Doors and The Beatles.

I’ve been giving Len a hand getting a new, official website online. It just launched today so I thought I’d give it a plug on here. Visit TUBESNAKE.CO.UK for information on one of the North East’s top live bands.
